Happy new year! Life is now returning to normal post all of the Christmas and new year festivities. January is a great time of new beginnings, fresh thinking and 2015 marketing planning. Somehow in the bleak January days we resolve to do something differently to tick off a couple of things from our bucket list this year, loose some weight, get fit plus many more! Things in your business life are no different. This is the perfect time of year to review where you wish to take your marketing this year, what are you going to focus on and how are you going to build your business. So where do we start? At the beginning. We first EVALUATE what worked well for you in 2014 and what you want to build on; equally important is to consider at what you did not enjoy and do less of that.
Once you know where you want to get to, what changes you wish to make and what you want to do we can DEVELOP a plan and IMPLEMENT the activity to help take you there. What new types of media might work for your business or what new messages could you try? Perhaps you have been inspired by something you have seen recently. .
The final part in the jigsaw is to continually review and ANALYSE what marketing activity has worked and not worked for you. Marketing is a continual cycle to test and learn.
One trend that I believe is going to be really big this year is the idea of “mindfully” doing something. What do I mean by this? Well simply to live in the moment. In today’s technology driven world where we are bombarded with hundreds of messages we struggle to process them or focus on one thing at time. With nearly a third of 18-24 year olds using social media whilst in the bathroom; 45% of internet users aged 65+ use Facebook and over 80% of other social network users also use Facebook, it is no wonder that we over whelmed.
With this in mind I am going to tuck myself away to focus on completing one thing before watching my favourite TV series.
